Tell St Albans District Council you want them to act on air quality
Air pollution causes the death of 100 people from St Albans District every year and makes many more of us ill. According to the UK government, there is no clear evidence that there is a safe level of air pollution exposure that won't cause adverse health effects - in other words - all air pollution is likely to be bad for us.

St Albans District Council have prepared a Draft Air Quality Action Plan with their plans to help clean up the air, and they're asking us what we think.
​
Actions to improve air quality don't just improve our health and reduce the burden on the NHS, they also reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases - so they're a win for people and the environment.
​

Please join us for a litter pick at Alban Way
Thank you to everyone who came to our last litter pick - we collected 6 bags of rubbish and recycling from along the Alban Way making it safer and nicer for people and wildlife as well as keeping plastic pollution out of the environment.

Our next litter pick will be at 6.30pm on Thursday 12th September.
​
We'll meet in Morrisons Car Park off Hatfield Road, St Albans, at the entrance to the Alban Way, and we'll clean up the Fleetville Play area and a stretch of the Alban Way.
​
Bring gloves and litter pickers if you have them.
Accompanied children and dogs welcome.
The weather forecast looks good but I'll email if it looks like we'll have to cancel because of poor weather.
